Secondary School Diversity Training Event
There are two elements to this course:
a) A full day of training to teaching/pastoral staff to learn to deliver understanding about diversity, hate crime and its consequences suitable to pupils in years 7,8,9 & 10.
The training covers all six strands of hate crime; Race, Religious Belief, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender, Disability and Alternative Subgroup Culture.
The training is suitable for both faith and non faith schools which meets the standards of a schools single equality duty and Ofsted requirements. It provides course attendees with a platform to deliver an immersion day within school to whole year groups.
b) A half day of training to teaching/pastoral staff to learn to deliver a training session to staff based on supporting the pupils training day above.
This session underpins the understanding of the importance to challenge behaviours based on prejudice, to produce a consistent approach for all members of the school. It supports all areas of the hate crime strands to build understanding into the curriculum.
